I know it's a bit crazy for me to blog twice in one week...but my boy just learned to do something pretty spectacular that I had to share.

Little itty bitty walker

Dillon's sweet Physical Therapist and her husband made him a tiny walker (as most baby/toddler walkers are WAY too huge for our little boy). We're trying to help him understand sitting up and moving. He can't sit on his own yet, but we work on it constantly. Can you imagine how hard it is to do something like sitting when you don't have your legs to balance you? Anyway, he's doing great, and can sit by himself without assistance for a few seconds. He can sit for a long time leaning against a couch or the wall. Now, we're trying not only to encourage him to sit, but also to encourage him to move while in the sitting position. His walker is adorable, but he has hated it for the last few months. The boy just doesn't want to be contained. However, today he ended up really enjoying himself in the walker, and even scooted around the house twice. So fun! Thought I'd pass along a couple photos of D playing catch with his big brother, while balancing in his walker.

What is that!? ...and An Approval!

We had a great time at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science a couple of weeks ago. Great place that the kids love, and I love too, especially on free days! We went there with some friends, and had a good old time. While in one of the play areas, Dillon was crawling around having a blast. A little boy, about six years old, started pointing at him, laughed, and said to a little girl "hey, look at that!" He then proceeded to say to me "WHAT IS THAT!?" ...Are you serious? "What is that?" I told him that D is a precious little boy, and that he's awesome! He then asked the normal inquisitive questions like, "where is his hand?" - those questions I'm always prepared for, and always willing to answer right away. Don't get me wrong, I'm happy to educate and talk about our sweet boy. But asking me what he is...well, that's just plain frustrating, and ill mannered. He's just a six year old, you say? Well, yes, but still - let's try, as parents, to help our kiddos be a tad bit more sensitive, eh? I laughed it off with my friends later and they all got annoyed, too. It was nice to be annoyed together and I was thankful I had them there with me to chat with after it happened. Its just perfect that Miggy wrote a blog about these types of interactions recently too. I'm thankful that people out there know what we're going through. I am so inspired and empowered knowing that God is there completely taking care of us, and involved in every situation, every interaction we have with others. I'm trying to be loving and to answer questions with as much grace as I can. Sometimes its hard as we do deal with it every day. It might be one interaction for one kid or adult, but its a daily thing for us. So it can get frustrating. Please stay with us, friends, and pray for us to be full of grace in all situations.

In other news, we got approved for D's wheelchair! Yahoooo! We're not yet sure if that means it's fully funded, but the insurance company did approve us. We are thrilled and blessed, and praising the Lord for his faithfulness. Thanks for praying with us.
